[music] i'm the owner ofmother hubbard's restaurant here in buellton. santa ynez valley is a verydiverse area. you have families, ranchers.
Peak Tower Hong Kong, you've got people who commutefrom the valley down to santa barbara to work. and we've had our doors opennow for 34, 35 years and have seen just such avariety of people come
through our doors. most of them come back, which i'm happy about. the pg&e peak daypricing program, we received the informationfrom pg&e on it. one of the things that reallymade the decision easy was pg&e had a price guaranteewhere for the first year, they wouldn't make anyadjustment on your bill in case there was an increasein pricing. a program where you can actuallysave money and at the same time,
learn on somebody else's moneyjust seemed like too good of an opportunity to pass by. we've always tried to beenvironmentally conscious. we've sourced most of ourproduct locally which we think not only supportsour community, but also provides fora better meal. we made some changes to ourinternal lighting that not only saved the power directly bydrawing less, they reduce the heat in thebuilding so our air conditioning
doesn't have to work as much. one of the things that reallymakes the program work is the day before an event day,i get multiple notifications. i set it up where there's aphone call that comes to the restaurant. i get a phone call at my house, and we also get an email on it. you almost have to go out ofyour way not to be aware that the following day is goingto be one of their event days. if you put a little bit ofeffort and time into it
and just kind of think throughhow your business operates, you'll find there's a lot youcan save there. took our ice machine.it's an efficient unit. it produces enough ice literallyovernight to get us through the day. so one of the things we did wasjust put a timer on it to make sure that it justshut off automatically. at noon, we're doing much moreof a lunch menu than a breakfast menu,
so instead of having bothour coffee makers on, we shut one of them off. it's more the small stepsthat we take. not only does it save us money, but it's just good business. it's environmentally consciousand it saves me money. i mean, that's just a goodcombination for everybody. find out more aboutpeak day pricing at pge.com/pdp.
